The elusive happiness.

Short visit to New York City the week before, and X's university friend was kind enough to show me around. We didn't do touristy things (cuz I told her I wasn't the touristy type), so instead she chose a few off-the-beaten-track eateries and I must say I enjoyed all the good food she recommended. Sorry I didn't really take many pictures.

This coffee joint was really nice, and their chocolate chip cookie was awesome! It's bigger than my face, though you can't tell from the pictures. I couldn't even finish it - it was that huge.
Bought a little something for myself. Trying posietint for the first time, not bad since it isn't super pink. But needs more generous applications to get the flush if you get what I mean.

Met up with Crystal when I was back, short dinner at Thai Express. I had the black pepper crayfish with fried glass noodles.

Pretty yummy but at $14.90, it is considered one of the pricier dishes on their menu. We went about town to run some errands, and ended up at Accessorize! where we bought the same ring. Kinda overpriced but what the hell.

Bracelet from Korea. Am into accessories these days so I bought more after dinner with my family yesterday.

Kitten heels from Charles and Keith! Comes in electric blue as well but me being the practical me, I settled for the nude patent ones because they are easier to match. I am not adventurous with colors-_-''.

Had Sushi Tei with X, and we watched 'Magic Mike' as well. X was initially skeptical of the movie but as it turned out, he enjoyed the show more than he thought he would. TOLD YA! We ended the day with dinner at The Hand Burger.

Favorite sashimi.

My first time at The Hand Burger and I ordered the lamb burger since I don't take beef. It was surprisingly good. Will definitely go back again.

These past two weeks or so has been tough on me and therefore tough on X as well. We have been fighting a lot because I get into these dark moods whenever I feel neglected/lonely/angsty. I have no excuse for my behavior and I know it's not his fault when things don't go well but in a relationship, where else can I blame or vent my frustrations on if not him? You have to accept me for who I am, for better or worse and I'm glad X has stuck around despite all the difficulties.

I promise not to focus on anger, which is a pretty useless emotion.

This picture of my brother makes me laugh because of his pants. LOL. Capri pants! And FYI the man in yellow is my dad and yes he is TALL. Sadly I didn't take after his height or else I could have been a supermodel. LOL.

Other random snippets of my life - more arm candy, camwhoring, clothes, makeup items I can't live without.

My cabin bag and trusty flats. All I need to go around the world.
High waist floral denim shorts from Little red heels. Super love!
Going casual with my flip flops cuz I had a blister from another pair of shoes.

I know the Naked palette from Urban Decay is extremely popular, but I'm currently using this one from Stila which in my opinion, is also really nice. As you can see, this one has alot of earth tones which are very wearable. The darker shades also add depth to my eyes nicely and the color intensity is definitely there. Comes with an eyeliner as well! My only grouse is there are no applicators or brush within the box itself, so for people who don't apply their makeup with fingers (like myself), it is a tad troublesome. But anyway this was a gift from X, so no complaints!

To elaborate a little more on my makeup, I actually use two types of mascaras - the washable type for my upper lashes and waterproof for my lower lashes since they tend to smudge. I'm using the gel penciliner from Integrate (not available in SG) and it is really creamy smooth and easy to use. Another item I cannot live without is the Touche eclat concealer from YSL, I use it for my undereye and then top it off with the Bareminerals powder.

Shall share more tips next time. Goodnight!

Randomness in everything.

20 random facts about me:

1) I studied mass communications at Temasek Polytechnic, and subsequently took my part-time degree with SIM under RMIT.
2) I love writing because I find it therapeutic.
3) Same for painting my nails:)
4) I have a domestic helper at home, so a lot of people have the misconception that I'm either spoilt or 'princessy' or both.
5) Wrong on both counts (refer to above).
6) I'm angsty.
7) I'm also very transparent. Either I tell you exactly what's on my mind, or my face gives it away.
8) I have an insane fear of cats since young.
9) I also have an insane fear of bugs.
10) It actually doesn't take a lot to impress me.
11) But money is something that doesn't (see above).
12) My most cherished gift from X is a beautiful handcrafted jewelry box from 5 years ago.
13) I'm a coffee drinker.
14) I think real men shouldn't wear white pants under any circumstances. It's a huge turnoff.
15) I've been told that I'm aloof. Admittedly I don't smile a lot and I actually do take time to warm up to strangers but that doesn't mean I'm unapproachable.
16) I love red meat but I've given up beef for almost 3 years.
17) I curse a lot in both English and Hokkien. LOL.
18) Even though I complain about X, deep down I know he's a really good person with a lot of great qualities who actually deserves better than me.
19) My favorite attire on a man is a long sleeved shirt with roll-up sleeves and berms.
20) I am craving Japanese food right now. Haha!

I will be back in SG in a few more days and since I don't have my laptop with me I can't post pictures. Not that I have taken many...-_-" Bear with me and I will be back with more colorful entries! Sigh. I miss the comforts of home already and I miss X. Can't wait to just have a cuppa with him and just talk about anything and everything.

Wanna be home so bad:(

You are my sunshine.

Spent a rather quiet and uneventful day with X today but nonetheless it's always good to have him around=)

I woke up late because I slept late haha! But I'm still lethargic after 10 hours sleep I don't know why. I probably need to exercise more since I'm missing out on my yoga classes very often due to work these days. I'm such a lazy ass I admit.

We had lunch @ Ippudo where I was charged 8 bucks for 2 pots of green tea. I felt a little annoyed that the staff neglected to inform us that one pot would suffice for 2 to share and somehow I was a little let down by my dining experience today. This is probably my last visit there because there are other ramen joints in Singapore that serve equally good (if not better) ramen and are less pricey too. Shall share next time!

X wanted to go to the arcade just now but I didn't wanna go with him since I wasn't feeling up for the noisy environment today...so we agreed to split up for awhile. We always have this arrangement because we feel it suits us better. For example, I do not force X to go shopping with me. He dislikes trawling Bugis Street with me cuz of the crowds and narrow spaces so he usually sits at Starbucks or some other cafe whilst I'm doing my bargain-hunting=D

So this is what I got up to while he was at the arcade...

Pardon the odd posture in the first picture LOL. Wanted to get a mid-length skirt but it was a little pricey for me.

Bought shoes AGAIN. I'm such a shoe addict and X is of no help because he never discourages me from buying anything (unless he thinks its ugly). The Pazzion one is my third pair from them because it is really the most comfortable pair of flats EVER. I had the nude pink one, and the silver one and now the black. Which is a new color and material by the way.

This was my first pair and they have served me well. *sobs* Goodbye my friend.

Am donating some of my other shoes to a good cause. To know more, click on http://www.herworldplus.com/lifestyle/stuff-do/lifestyle-stuff-do-her-glass-slipper-charity-drive-2012.

Work tomorrow, and sleep beckons. Goodnite.

You had me at hello.

Some nice stuff I came across in London.

The fitting rooms of this particular shop has different lighting modes that you can experiment with just to see what your *ahem* lingerie would look like under different light. Lol. I was quite fascinated by the idea!
My boring outfit of the day.*grins*

What I read and where I sleep.

I was arranging the stuff I'd bought on my Taipei trip when I realized how many pieces of clothing were polka-dotted. LOL. But I can't help but love them cuz polka dots are just so fun and cute!

The last picture was taken during dinner with X today at Saveur. It's a really popular restaurant opened by Shatec students and it serves really awesome french fare. Everything on the menu tastes SO good I swear. Plus their prices are wallet friendly - the pork belly with poached egg is only $10.90 when a similar dish at another place would probably cost you more than twice that amount, Go try it but be warned that you might have a long wait ahead of you since the place is really popular. I got rather cranky while waiting for half an hour, sorry but I'm THAT impatient. X on the other hand, is cool as a cucumber as always. Sometimes I wonder why we're together when we are such opposites. Perhaps I do need someone like him to act as an anchor, to whisper comfort, to quiet those fears...Whatever it is, I'm thankful I have him.

Do be thankful to have your loved ones with you. Cherish them. Goodnight!
