Home away from home.

I'm away from home now and even though I'm currently in London (one of my favorite cities), I still miss home as always. Being a globetrotter has made me realize the importance of family even more and sleeping in my own bed is like the best thing in the world. I cherish the time I have in Singapore more than before and I definitely do not enjoy living life out of a suitcase. I'm simply used to it=/ Music and literature are my companions when I'm on the go...on my playlist right now - Demi Lovato's Skyscraper. Currently reading - UK's edition of Cosmopolitan. Not really 'literature' I know lol. More updates when I return! Ciao~

Taipei.

Back from my short but sweet vacation. Taipei was lots of fun as usual because for me it's all about the food and SHOPPING!

Day One.

-Had my favorite food ranging from tau-huay with pearls to Ah zong mee sua.
-Floral dress from Megagamie.
-Fake eyelashes from Shilin Night Market. Very cheap! Each box was only NT299 which is about SGD13. These retail at Bugis Street and Far East Plaza for like $20+.

Day Two.

We hopped on a train and went to Kee-lung. First time there so we just explored around on foot and went to their night market as well.

-Great (but hot) weather as indicated by the blue blue skies!
-Chilling at Starbucks with a green tea and red bean frappuccino. FYI that's supposed to be a lotus folded from a napkin that I made. I know right...MAJOR fail lol.
-Cute eyeshadow palette from Integrate.

Day Three. Not many pictures taken cuz we were busy shopping at Wufenpu.

-We had yummy waffles at a cafe nearby to recharge ourselves after all that shopping.
-Bought vintage looking earrings at another night market near Shida University. This is where all their students hang out so expect to find alot of cheap fashionable clothes and accessories here.
-Buying groceries beer at the supermarket. These 'fruit beer' comes in many flavors and is easy to drink. They taste very fruity and only contain about 3.5% alcohol.

Day Four.

-Simple but satisfying lunch at a small restaurant in Ximending.
-Watched 'Dark Knight Rises' at their IMAX theater.
-Had dinner/supper at Kushi Bar, recommended by a Taiwanese friend of mine. Not a bad place with more than decent food, friendly service and free wifi! I can update my Instagram, FB whilst I'm there heh.

Other random pictures. The pink shorts was a lousy buy from one of the night markets because they are just too 'butt-skimming' short! Gisele Bundchen or Miranda Kerr could carry these off but definitely NOT me. I guess I'll try pairing them with tunic tops or something=/

My luggage was filled to the brim on my way back! But they were mostly stuff that people wanted me to buy. I had so many packets of instant noodles, 4 boxes of My Beauty Diary face masks and 8 refill packs of Biore makeup remover wipes (for my mom). But to sidetrack a little, I was watching a program on TV in Taipei and did you know that makeup can only be thoroughly removed with cleansing oil? Those wipes might be handy but they aren't gonna be enough! So the safe thing to do is always follow with a good cleanser afterwards.

I shall share more tips on makeup and skincare next time so stay tuned.

Decided to blog whilst I'm 'masking' my face...I'm always concerned about my skin not being hydrated enough especially with all the traveling I do. I'll be setting off tomorrow for a short vacation with X! Not so much excited because I've been to Taipei many times, but happy to be spending time with him and getting a well-deserved break for myself=)

For the curious, I'm currently using this brand of facial masks:

'Leaders Insolution' from Korea. Heard some good reviews about it from friends so X bought me 2 boxes. I have the Mela-tox one(above) for whitening and the Aquaringer for hydrating purposes. These retail at Watsons for $3-$3.50 per pc.

Random pictures.

Gift from X. I have a habit of losing my earphones cuz I travel around a lot. This is my third one from him and I think there won't be a fourth if I lose this one more time. X is getting kinda annoyed haha.
Bio-Oil. I use this on my body before I sleep to keep my skin from drying out in air-conditioned rooms. It's supposed to help with scars and stretch marks too! Let you guys know if it works;p
 Outfit from BrandyMelville. SUPER LOVE.

That picture actually shows how much stuff I've packed for my 5D4N trip. The rest will be filled by my shopping in Taipei haha! I also like to pack my toiletries in those clear ziploc bags...I can see what I need easily and there's also no need to worry about spillage. I just throw the bag away and get a new ziploc plastic bag if that happens. I'm quite a fuss-free traveler. I usually pack a pair of jeans, some tank tops and maybe a dress and I'm good to go. Shall share more on my thoughts/experiences on traveling next time.

Til then, goodnight!

Decided it was time for change.

Am aware I haven't been blogging for a long time but writing and sharing will always be my first love. I will always come back here when I feel like penning down random thoughts or just to share pictures of my life!;)

Biggest event so far would be getting my own place with X. Below are some photos of the showflat. Nice huh? I'm really excited about getting our 'little heaven' together in 2 years time, but also a little sad about potentially leaving the home which I've shared with my own family for so many years.

Having to finance our own place means tightening our belts a little. Both me & X have set up a joint account and are putting in $$ which will then be used for renovations, furniture and repaying our monthly bank loans. *Phew* Getting your own place is hard work I kid you not. But X was certainly sweet enough to do all the paperwork and keeping in touch with the agents, lawyers etc. I did the minimum really, just showed up to look at the houses and sign my name on the contracts.

More random pictures.

Did a lot of mad shopping recently and my recent obsessions include vintage looking accessories(check out my watch!), high waisted shorts/skirts, bralets, and wedges. I'm normally a comfy flats kinda girl but I'm trying!!! Wedges are a nice alternative to heels and I just bought a black pair from Payless. Check out my previous entry to see it. Payless shoes are pretty and affordable!

I also tried my hand at deconstructing a new outfit. My top originally had a collar which i found irritating so I decided to snip it off. Ta-dah!

Before and After! Elaine Yuki looks fabulous huh?Anyway I'm really glad with the 'new' top I created, and also thanks to mummy for sewing it up=)

That's all for today. Look forward to my entry k? Soon I promise!
