Eat, drink, play with X

This post was written and saved almost a month ago. So I'm leaving it in its entirety and I've merely added more pictures.

Just got off FaceTime with X and whilst he just got back to Singapore, I've just barely started my own trip that will take me away for another 8 more days. By the time I'm home, he's off for another trip and this is the 'same shit, different day' story of my life. I know I sound bitter, which I sometimes am, but as it is right now, what I'm feeling is something closer to a sense of resignation. Maybe I could have chosen a different job, or maybe I could have chosen to be with someone else, but I chose X and there really isn't any turning back is there? Not that I want to, because I want to make things work.

Ok enough griping and onto the less depressing stuff. I present these pictures as evidence of our gluttony over the past 2 months=)At Korean restuarant 'Sarang': Camwhoring whilst waiting for our food, + our rather pathetic appetitzers,
Next up is 'EWF', which also didn't turn out to be that fantastic=/
I think the only thing I enjoyed was their soup, and my salmon was rather forgettable. X had the pork chops, which was pretty average. I do recall their staff was friendly and enthusiastic, which is refreshing because more often than not service standards in SG is rather lacklustre.

We also paid a visit to the much raved-about 'Le Cuisson', which is a coffee-shop stall serving up french cuisine. Can't remember the exact address but it's near the Waterloo Street Temple @ Bugis:
The entire meal cost us about $50plus, which includes a mushroom soup, our foie gras starter, my pork medallions and the steak which X had. Kinda steep for a 'kopitiam' setting. I don't really get the hype over this place, because I can't really say that it's fantastic French food. Maybe I just don't like to pay so much money to eat at a kopitiam when I could be enjoying a $3 chicken rice. Whatever.

And this was lunch at Blackbird cafe, next to the Cathay cinema.
I enjoyed the carrot soup tremendously, though it was a tad salty. My carbonara pasta was pretty run-of-the-mill stuff, but X had a really nice juicy burger. Shall go back there to try their burgers next time!

And just a quick snap of me with our dessert @ Ootoya.

Ootoya has outlets at 313 Somerset and Changi Citypoint(Citipoint?!), and both myself and X like the place. Food is nice although menu items consists mainly of rice bentos and nothing much else but I enjoyed my food on every visit. Plus they have free refill for rice & miso soup!!! =p

Food aside, this is prob one the of the few pics anyone will ever see of me in my specs. Just went for a lasik pre-op evaluation and I'm going for the procedure in April. So glad to be finally free of the hassle of glasses and contact lens! Only downside would be the hole it leaves in my pocket...cuz it'll cost me close to 5k=/ X has generously offered to sponsor 2k...but we'll see. I don't really want to take his money but I guess he'd rather give me the money than to hear me grumble haha.

Before I end, I REALLY am gonna try to update my blog more often. However, work is keeping me busy, I'm often tired and off-days are really so precious and limited=/ Goodnight!
